Today, Joshua visited the Tidal Basin and the Jefferson Memorial for the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Here he is getting a close up look at some of the first of this year's blossoms.
Joshua has a new toy (pictured), a mini piano that plays music and lights up when either the keys are pressed or dangling components are pushed far enough in the proper direction. Presently, Josh's parents are as enamored with this incredible device as he is - or perhaps more. Here you can see Joshua's wingspan. If this were to scale, his arms would stretch beyond the 88 keys of a full-size piano! Could even Van Kliburn claim such a reach? And I wonder if Van Kliburn's arms are at least 2/3 as long as his legs? Infant proportions are quite amazing!
Joshua's persistent efforts to master his pop-up toys, such as the one pictured here, remind us of The Little Engine that Could. "I think I can, I think I can...."
Chris loves his job as a program manager at the National Cancer Institute of NIH. Maria delights in her role as mommy and homemaker and is especially enjoying honing her cooking skills. Joshua and David are two energetic little lads who keep our house full of laughter, loudness, and lots of trains.
