Other highlights from our stay in New York and New Jersey while Chris was at a meeting in Amsterdam (poor him) included a blustery picnic at North Lake, the idyllic campground of my childhood, and then, after a thunderstorm chased us away from the lake, a visit to one of the coolest museums I've ever seen, a huge and comprehensive firefighting museum in Hudson, NY. These two fieldtrips were made all the more special by Uncle Mark's presence. Joshua and David enjoy him so and it was great to be with him that day.



David wanted to sit in a chair like Uncle Mark was doing at the time.




Grandpa Al grilled delicious hot dogs. Yum!



The fire museum had turnout gear for tots. Perfect! But the real hat was really heavy.



Hurry, hurry, jump on the hook and ladder truck!

More Ventnor

People had such lovely gardens.

Not to mention homes!

We even saw some of the air show that happened to take place over Atlantic City that day. It was a pretty good way to end our vacation.

Finally at the Beach

Remember Ventnor Avenue in Monopoly? That's where we were! This is the beach two blocks from my Uncle Mike's store in Ventnor, NJ. It's just a gorgeous beach. These are the only beach pictures from this summer, so I tried to take advantage of the opportunity.
